hi, i am new to this forum, and not sure where to post this question... anyway... i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what is wrong with my laptop. i have a z96j with the radion x1600 video card, duo core, 2gig ram.
my laptop was able to play call of duty 4 without a single problem, and with no lag at all.
now, when i first start up my computer, the game runs fine until about 5-10 mins later where it starts to lag horribly, in single or mutilplayer. i rebooted the computer hoping to fix this, but the problem remains.
can anyone help me?
thanks in advance

It could be a heaqt issue. try cleaning out all your fans and vents.
-
I agree, probably overheating. Check temps with HWmonitor ( http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php) and blow out your vents with a compressor or canned air.

Yeah, it sounds like a heat problem. Download HWMonitor and take a look at your temperatures in general. How old is your laptop? Usually with laptops, dust starts to accumulate around the fan and in the vents; make sure to open up your laptop and clean them out.

thanks for the fast repsonse!
i dl the hwmonitor, and acpi t200 is 77 min 80 max
the core #0 and core #1 us 78 min and 79 max.
is this bad? how do i clean the fans and stuff, is it safe for me to just get a screw driver and open it? \
thanks again guys! -
That's bad. Buy a can of air and blow it into all of the fan intakes and vents, you'll be amazed at how much dust comes out.
-
Max temp is 80? there's nothing bad in this...
-
so i dont have to open the laptop in anyway, correct? thanks again guys

The temp at which the system will immediately shut down to prevent hardware damage.
I'm not sure about mobile C2D's, but I think the downclock temp is 70c and the thermal shutdown temp is 85c. I know that the 8 and 9 series Nvidia card's thermal shutdown on the core temp is 105c, not sure about the X1600, but I'm willing to bet it's less as it's older. -
i blew somo air can and it seems to fix the problem! thanks guys!
