yeah folks I have the DELL Vostro 1000 with 2GB DDR 2 ram and Athlon X2 Radeon X1150 video card etc. 120GB HDD DVD Burner etc.

I want to trade it for a VGN-FS850/W SONY VIAO that has 512MB RAM and Pentium M and well I getting $300 USD aswell I believe.

Reason for trading is because the DELL has Anti Glare and the VIAO has XBRITE meaning Anti Reflective and is easier on my eyes. Thast the main reason. Aparently the Anti Glare are hurting my eyes and the XBRITE was made for people like me or is more liking to me.

To be honest some people dosen't see a difference but I dispise Anti Glare.
I wish my laptop was true life.

My Eyes hurt like Hell on this DELL but feels so nice on glossy anti reflective.

I have a Vostro 1000 wth worthless matte LCD. Has no glare but it hurts my eyes and loks blury.
I see spots from this worthless matte screen.

Now I am trading it for a SONY VAIO with XBRITE LCD

I want to know if the XBRITE LCD is those screens that is glossy and u can almost see your reflection in it?

I have seen them and they look great on my eyes.

So is XBRITE beter than regular Matte?

I am trading my DELL Vostro 1000 with 2GB ram and athlon X2 for a SONY VAIO VGN-FS850/W

    Is a pentium M 1.8GZ and 512MB DDR 2 and Intel GMA 900.

Reason being is because the DELL has a worthless useless regular matte LCD that hurts my eyes like hell.I can't focus and everything is blury and I can't even look at the sky anymore without seeing strange shapes and colors.

I am at my pc 14 hours a day doh.

But I just wanted to know if the SONY VAIO XBRITE is one of those High gloss shiny screens like true life and stuff where its impossible to get eye strain.

man I can't dell damaged my frecking eyes with their worthless mate screen.

The other day i looked at a glossy screen was a ACER CRYSTAL BRITE and looking at a white webpage was like looking at heaven.

Then I heard about this thing where Anti Reflective glossy LCD are 1 billion times better than useless anti glare.

I don't know about any of that, but this Xbrite screen is much better than my previous HP gloss screen.

So Kgann what you are saying is that XBRITE is indeed a bilion times better than matte anti glare LCD?

Have you ever been affected by matte LCD?
Like horrible eye fatigue where you see floaters and stuff?

Do you think the XBRITE will allow my eyes to heal?

PS: How is the experience of a Pentium M and 512MB DDR 2 RAM Centrino system work?

can I multi task with 10 webpages and photoshop open with that spec?

Well, I like the gloss screen more than the matte. The thing about Matte is, it shows "true color", where gloss will be a little faded. When I was working on a matte for 2 years, after around an hour or so my eyes would get tired, and sorta pained.

On the CPU... What is the PM clocked at? 1.7Ghz? If so, you will have a rough time multi-tasking, especially with only 512m of RAM. Upgrade to 2G if you are running Photoshop with others, as PS is a very RAM hungry program.

Does it have XP or Vista? If Vista, what version?

As for ECO... It is more power conserving. Meaning it requires less power to light, saving you more battery life. Mine is a 17" XBrite ECO LCD.

Well it has XP PRO and a 1.8GZ pentium M 2MB L2 Cache.

    Can hold 2GB ram

I am also getting $300 USD cash aswel. Thats $2000 Caribean dollars.

Well, if the trade sounds good to you, go for it. The GMA900 will obviously be a step down from the X1150, but if you don't do any graphic intensive 3D applications, you won't really notice. With the $300 you get, invest in some RAM. ;)

yeah I will invest in a 1GB stick so I will have 1.5GB.

To bad there are no drivers for 900 GMA to get vista aero theme to work on vista.

But my main concern is once this thing is glossy and easy on my eyes.

My has become so damaged because of matte that I cannot even look at the sky anymore without seeing flashes and weird spots.

When I saw a Acer with one of those glossy screens was like heaven. Do the glare was horrible against florescent bulbs and windows. I prefer gloss than those matte.

My laptop is usually in my studio, or in my home jam room, both with quite a bit of lighting, and I have no glare issues what-so-ever.

DELL makes the ugliest laptops in the world. This vostro thing looks like a piece of junk designed for some monkey to play catch with.

I wonder if the XBRITE is exactly like everyother gloss or if its better?
I read somewhere all these XBRITE and True Life and bla bla bright and whatever the hell they bran it as. Are all the same screen with just different marketing names.

But sony claim their XBRITE is better.
I mean is japanese technology so I assume it should be better.

In the AR series, Sony manufacturers the screen. Well, any Sony LCD is going to be beautiful, of course. I think in some of the others they use LG screens, which are very nice also. Dell, on the other hand, uses a few different brands... some good, some pretty shotty.

Man I wonder how they do it, those Japanese people how can tey make all this technology.

    Are these people human?

How could a man put 600 million transistors in 65nm Geforce 8800 is beyond me.
Don't forget the mathematics and physics calculations required to get them chips running.

I feel some people are aliens maby. Who knows!!!

Matte screens on laptops these days are worse than they were before glossy came along. They're just not trying anymore.
