Please help!!! I have a sony vaio PCG-R505JEK, i would like to play some older games that run in low res (640x480), the laptop will play the games fine. The problem lies in the fact that the screen shinks to about 50% its size, when . Is there anyway to strech the screen to fill it out the rest of the way? I called the manuf. of the game, they said that because the new laptops thought that the low res 640x480 would not be used anymore, it sometimes isnt installed with that setting. Is there a third party program or something that i can use to strech the screen???? Any help would be a great gift
    :(

    thanks again

What type of games are you trying to play?

On my dell 9200 using a lower res will produce black bars around the image and make it small. But not on my acer, which plays on full screen. But I've only done this on new games.

I haven't plauyed those games. Not a big real time strategy gamer. But you can try to fiddle with the video card's settings. I think there is a setting that will try to force the screen to display lower res. What video card to you have?

ii dont think its gonna matter if its a game or not i thnk any application that runs at the lower res should cause the same problem.

Im not sure where to find the information your asking for either its not displayed in the device manager or im an idiot, its probably the later of the two so could you tell me where to find the video card profile, im using windows 2000
