    standard vga driver?

    i tried to install the new ati 6.8 drivers for my x1400, it saya severe arror try reinstalling the standard vga drivers. what does this mean?

    have you fully uninstalled the older drivers?

    as far as i know yes, is that the problem?

    Sometimes. Could be remanants from the old drivers, usually drivecleaner takes them out.

    Uninstall the ati driver and ccc and restart. Then try again. If you dont remove the ati drivers and restart then it wont install because the installer already sees a driver. I standard vga driver is basically when the ati driver is isnt installed and it uses a universal driver. That makes the hardware in a ready state to accept a driver made for it.

    i uninstalled everything, and still no luck. and now my comps all screwy with no drivers. any other suggestions?
