i am having a problem with my modded nvidia drivers which i got from laptop video2go.com. the driver version is 180.48 and has a modded inf. the problem is that when i resume the laptop from standby the fans go on etc and the power lights but the screen stays black and i have to reboot in order to get it to work. i also put these drivers on a friends laptop as i found they made a big difference when gaming. my friend has an 8600gs in a zoostorm laptop and he has exactly the same problem. the problem mostly happens when the laptop is running off the mains. my specs are in my signature

please reply as this problem is really annoying

They keyword here is "modded". That automatically answers your question. You want the laptop to behave normally? Install the official drivers...or trial and error on other modded drivers.

there must be a way because sony are useless and dont release video drivers and most people who play games on their laptops use modded dricers and you dont hear about this problem. i looked it up but couldnt find any answers to the problem

Most of the 18x drivers from lv2go or any DOX drivers do not support sleep mode.
Use Hiberanting, right now it's the only way.

I always remember Dox's drivers caused the loss of sleep mode on my system.

Dox has fixed the sleep problem although it is not guaranteed to work for everyone. He even mentions that he fixed this.

Try the latest DOX before you go out on a limb on a trial and error. From what I know, they are based on the official NVIDIA notebook one and sleep is not an issue.

Actually I've been having this problem with all 18x.xx drivers. The official 179.28 driver works like a charm however.

The only drivers that allowed my MBP to sleep is 175.19 and 179.28.

For me waking from sleep mode works but only when the laptop is plugged in AC power. If I´m with battery on it doesn´t work. If I´m plugged in AC power with battery on and I unplug it the system hangs and have to reboot.
Using DOX´s 181.22.1 drivers, they´re very good for gaming.
    Take care
