I'm buying a new laptop for college and i want to do some gaming as well. I really like strategy games and i wanted to know if anyone knew the system requirements for starcraft 2. the laptop would most likely be a dell inspiron 1520 with the following specs:
Intel® Core 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB/4MB cache)
Genuine Windows ® Vista Home Premium Edition
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
i also would like some feedback on some games that would definately struggle with this system

that would struggle with a lot of games (half life 2, f.e.a.r, wow, maybe wc3). I suggest you upgrade to the 8600m GT and move down to the t7100 processor (only if you have to sacrifice it to save money) there are also dell coupons to make your setup cheaper so you should check that out if you haven't. I would imagine that starcraft 2 won't have any kind of demanding requirements, but the game is still in development and won't be out for a while. No one truely knows what will be needed to play the game well.

Try this notebook with the dedicated graphics if you plan gaming, if it fits your budget try to get the 8600gt, even if you have to lower your cpu to achieve this.
-
Yes, get the T7100 if ur not doing cpu intensive stuff and upgrade urself to a 8600M GT..
-
Yeah, I would definitely look at upgrading your GPU.
-
I'd try to hold onto that T7300 processor if you could. The T7100 is cheaper, but you downgrade to the 2mb cache. I don't think its worth it, but then again if you want to play SC2 with high settings you will want that dedicated graphics card.
-
However, if you want to game somewhat comfortably, get at least a dedicated card, preferably a Geforce 8600M series. But any Geforce 8-series should be better than a GMA X3100 -
There aren't any official specs for SC2 anyways but judging from the trailers and also from their press release. It will not require heavy requirements like some of the other big titles out there currently.

their gameplay trailers looked amazing, lol...
starcraft 2 requirements?????
