im looking for a laptop that will run steam based games with good quality. i dnt play any other games so i dnt need anything really top-end to run the game. im thinking along the lines of a dell inspirion 15, dell studio xps 13 or a dell m1530!
can u help me choose which to buy?

you should give the specs of those laptops, it doesnt help much if its just the name, expecially since they are all customisable. as for the games, if you can get something above a 8600 gt/9500 gs/g 210m, or a hd 2600/3650/4530 you will be able to run most source engine games max, hl2, the episodes, css, tf2. left 4 dead should be able to run at about medium on the cards i listed.

Counter-Strike: Source will run on pretty much anything. My mother's Latitude E6400 with the Intel 4500MHD can run it at 1280x800 with a solid 60 frames per second.

If CS:S is as high-end as it will get, you really can get pretty much anything. I would stay away from the M1530 because of its history with overheating and graphics failure. The Studio XPS 13 is probably your best pick of those three, although 13" is a bit small for gaming.

I suggest the Studio XPS 16 or Studio 15. Both will be more than adequate for Counter-Strike: Source.

As they said for just "that" game your fine with any laptop probably, its a pretty old game so it doesn't need a lot of firepower to run.

You can grab one of the asus 51 series or an alienware m17 line. Both around 1k and will play more than just CSS. Heavy but effective. The smaller laptops run very hot. You may only play steam games now, but think about the future...

    Good Luck,
