strange PES2013 crashing....

Hi all,

I'm a huge fan of the PES series and FIFA too. This time around I'm playing PES13 a lot. I've been playing it since I got my notebook, on my tv via HDMI. sometimes on the laptop.

Today, I couldnt even get it to open. Double click, pes2013 has has stopped working. last tuesday I was playing it with my friends, no problems at all. I've been running smoke patch on it without any issues since the first install on this laptop. I tried different solutions, couldnt get it to work. Although, running it in compatibility mode works. But there is a white border around the screen, and its fairly noticeable. anyway to get rid of that white border thing? Also, the game stutters when playing on this mode.

The strange thing is, why is it crashing now as I havent changed anything of the system? The only thing I did was install crysis 3 (again, 'cause I unistalled it before and wanted to test something)..... maybe I did install some directx during the setup of crysis.... Pretty sure I had directx 9.0c when I was running pes13, that was the only directx setup i did since i got this laptop... maybe thats the issue?

Any suggestions plz? Unistall directx and install the one that worked before maybe? if thats possible lol

 

would like to add: PES13 plays on the iGPU without crashing. it seems that when the game tries to start on the dGPU it crashes. but then again, compatibility mode works.... wth.. I'm still wondering why a restart would change so much that I can't play at all... would appreciate any suggestions on what I should try.

 

I wouldn't use all of the available patches for it. The best is the following one, which has no problems at all:
