Lately, counterstrike will crash upon startup, or immediately after joining a server. If the game doesn't crash on startup, and I try joining a server, it seems that the only map that will load correctly is office. Anytime I try hosting, or joining a server with any map that isn't office the game completely freezes up, yet I get no errors from windows. Running CS/steam as administrator doesn't remedy the problem either. I've never had any issues with source engine games or any other games before, so this is strange. I did recently update to forceware 163.75, but I don't have problems with anything else. Any ideas?

I'd recommend rolling back your drivers, and see if that fixes the problem.

That happen to me a couple of times but then it stop. I have an ati card, but my friend with a 8600gt said it happen to him a bunch before. But yea he has vista and I upgraded to that forceware you have and he did not have any problem as of yet. I guess you can uninstall it and reinstall it again.
