I have the d620 in my sig, with the Nvidia Quadro NVS 110M

im running the vista 32bit 100.64 with laptop2go modded inf

in the picture below it show i have 64mb of dedicated vram and then about 500mb of shared ram, id honestly rather have most of that ram back for programs and use what is supposed to be 192mb of shared ram for a total of 256mb.

anyone know how i can change the shared memory allocation?

it's because you are using 2GB ram, which configures your card to use the maximum shared ram.

Usually, the memory is only actually allocated if needed. (It wouldn't really be shared if the GPU used it all the time, would it?)

It just means the GPU can take up to those ~500MB if it needs them. Otherwise, it'll stick with (much) less.

the maximum shared ram regardless for my card is 192mb and the drivers do pre allocate the ram for video use as in the task manager it only show 1.5GB physical total. The bios offers nothing
