hey guys, just wanted to know one thing before buying supreme commander, how will the game run on my inspiron 1705/9400, core2due T7200, 2Gb, go7900gs ?
i'm really confused as some people are claiming it'd run very well, while others claiming the opposite, the question is :if i run it on 1024x728 resolution with high settings, would i still get an average frame rate of about 30fps?
any help would be appreciated

The demo ran on my X1600 at default settings(what ever they are) without ANY problems. I don't know the frame rates but is really smooth, specs wise I think an 7900 should be better.

7900GS will run it fine with high settings, dunno bout the fps. what you could do is google a review of say a 7600GT desktop card running supreme commander and see how well that runs. if it runs over 30fps then the 7900GS will do much better.

you know what, i did it and found a performance guide, and they were testing few graphics cards, the 7900gs(desktop version) was one of them, and according to the guide(were testing the demo BTW) the 7900gs with a Core 2 due processor managed to get an average frame rate of 29fps on high settings(1024x728 resolution), so..i 'm really confused right now.
anyone here running supreme commander on an inspiron 1705/9400 with 7900gs ? -

I ran it on mine at 1920x1200 with all low settings and shadows off. it ran ok.
-
I ran it on high settings at 1920x1200 about 25fps. It runs real well
-
that's very impressive, i think i'll buy it
-
The diff between 7900gs on desktop and laptop is really only minor
-
why not download the demo, run it, and then judge for yourself if it is acceptable performance?
I know it is large (+1gb), so perhaps that is it? -
well, my internet connection is pretty slow(2Mb/s), so this would take very long time(about 10 or so hours), anyway, i think i'll buy it, as it seems, the 7900gs looks to be capable of running SC on high settings.
