I can run 2142 (recommended fail 'coz my CPU is only rated at 2.74 instead of 3GHz ), Oblivion (recommended fail 'coz of the same stupid reason); Rainbow Six is fail? WTFH? It says that I can't run it because my CPU is not clocked at 3GHz.

System requirements finally realized that CPUs are not just about speed. Your CPU at 1.83GHz runs at least as powerful as a Pentium 4 @ 2.74 GHz...obviously an understatement to say the least.

In any event, just about every game out there is going to hit a graphics card bottleneck instead of a processor bottleneck. As long as the RAM, HDD, and GPU match up you will be fine.

I mean, I know it'll run if your CPU is above a certain range, but still - saying that it's only 2.74 and not as good as 3, the game won't run - that's just ridiculous. It's like saying a 2GHz is half as fast as 4, IMHO.

On battlefield 2142 i failed minimum and recommended with 1gb ram and my 1.61ghz amdx2 tl-52 processor. I failed rainbow six vegas for the same reason and oblivion for the same reason.

Strangely enough it says that Rainbow Six will not work...but I have a GPU listed that is on the compatibly list so go figure. Again, the CPU stuff isn't that big of a deal...something tells me that the Core 2 is gong to be fine no matter what.

All screenshots are for the recommended specs and not the minimum.

The LAB says I'm borderline to play Oblivion.

Well, I play Oblivion 1280x800 at high settings with a slight turn down on grass. Everything is beautifully run and I rarely get low FPS.

    specs in sig:
    - passed on oblivion
    - passed on BF: 2142 but only got between pass/recommended (about 1/2 through)
    - failed on RB6: vegas (although i believe they should judge by 3dmark scores and not by the card)

    Specs are in my sig.

Rainbow 6: Failed for minimum requirements because my card doesn't support 3.0 vertex and pixel shaders. Failed on recommended due to 1GB of ram, and CPU isn't rated high enough.

Oblivion: Will run at minimum, fails at recommended, again video card, supports all the right features, just barely falls below the "recommended line".

BF: Pass minimum, fail at recommended due to lack of system and video ram.

Looks like Rainbow 6 is the game that would really kill me. I am very confident that I could get the other ones playable as long as I bumped everything down, and probably revert to DX8 shaders! :p But yea, moral of the story, don't plan on gaming newest games on x300! :) Oh and by the way, my 3DMark05 score is 1973 or so on an overclock. I always game with an overclock.

BTW, I just tried this out on the desktop in my sig. It has the CPU rated performance as 4.05GHZ! :) That is sweet!

Rainbow Six: Vegas - Fail on CPU and GPU
Battlefield 2142 - Pass At minimum, Fail at recommended (CPU and Ram)
Oblivion - Pass at Minimum, Fail at Recommended (CPU)

All the fails at CPU came cos my 1.73 core duo isn't a 3ghz processor

My specs are: 1.73 core duo processor, 1 gb ram, Mobility X1600 256mb.

i hate it when they say it fails.....
since they didn't add ati 200m graphics
for exaple it meets memory, shader model and stuff like that and it says it failed. i done this before but can't remember.. ill check and post it
