Played around a bit with my new Dell E1505. Was interesting to see that my 1.66 Core 2 Duo was given "an equal" to 2.49GHz (P4 equal?). Also that in the couple of random game tests I ran (BF 2142, FEAR, Quake) - my ATI x1400 always made the minimum AND recommended setup. However my CPU did not make it for the recommended setup for BF and FEAR (wanted 3 GHz).
I rely on the real world tests posted by experienced users here - but just commenting on the tests run by that site.

for fear the minimum is a 1.7 ghz cpu so your more than fine. Im not totally sure but i think that you only need a 1 ghz pc to "run bf2" (thats what EA says but we all know how full of crap they are).

I would take what it rates your CPU at with a grain of salt. It rates my Pentium M 760 (2.0ghz) at 2.99 Ghz... Something doesnt sit right there because is'nt your CPU faster than mine?

Yeah, I believe that test mainly relys on registered clock speed, and not real world performance. It recommends that I update my T7200 (Core 2 2GHZ).

yes
the system requirements lab is very stupid
any core 2 duo or core duo owners won't have to be concerned about clock speed requirements in any game
game requirements use a ghz rating based on P4 requirements, not core duo. the core duo architecture is much better then the P4 and thus doesn't need as high clock speed to achieve the same performance
long story short, if you have a core duo, or C2D, you more then meet the requirements for any game out there -

System requirements lab takes no account of actual processors, unless it's an Athlon or Pentium. Same goes for graphics detection............
"You have Shader Model 3.0 compatibility! You have 256 MB VRAM! blah, blah, blah, blah........."
"Well did you take into account I'm running a G72 core based GPU (Nvidia GeForce Go 7200)? Yeah, if you knew how powerful that GPU is, then you wouldn't be saying 'Oblivion will run great!' now wouldn't you? Stupid system requirements lab."
It needs REAL detection and database updating.
