    I bought a acer aspire one d270-1596 pretty happy with the 8 hour battery life, hdmi, screen brightness and weight. when I tried it at the store it seemed a little slow but nothing I consider a big deal.

    It has 1gb of ram, will making it 2gb or 4gb speed up internet browsing

    I bought a net book before very similar however i have no clue how to install the ram... i dont want to wreck it! I was thinking of going to futureshop and picking up 2gb trying it out and if it works getting one for my mom and her net book.. do you know any guides for my laptop ect or an idea of how hard it is

    ps i have a 40gb ssd ut i have no clue as to how to install it without an operating system, i have a external usb enclosure and could maybe install the os to it from recoverery ect then put in the hd but i dont know how to take this thing apart its like its glued together

    please help people

    What kind of netbook is it? And since netbooks only have one hdd slot in it I wouldn't recommend trying to fit everything on 40gb.

    i called futureshop and they said it will only make a 5 percent differance if i upgrade the ram. i asked about a ssd upgrade and he said the same thing but i read a review of a guy saying he got double the speed with a ssd. two diff opinions. it was a technician btw

    any other opinions

    Yeah hes right upgrading the ram and installing a ssd will make zero difference at all.

    are you running 32bit or 64bit operating system. if 64bit i would go for 4gb of ram so it can use its full potential.
