Oh my... what a great game!

One downside: flashes of light that you can see. That is impoossible I think, you can only see bullets fly when it is dark (at night).

Many tracer rounds can be seen in daylight, otherwise you wouldn't be able to "trace" them.

Tracer rounds are typically one of every 5 or 10 bullets in a machine gun, and they light up (they're phosphorus) when they're shot, so you can see where your bullets are actually going. Kinda like a water hose ;) And you can't even see bullets in the dark. Lead and copper are metals that don't spark, no matter what they hit. That's why people working around flammable stuff are often restricted to just copper or lead hammers.

I wasn't too impressed with the smoothness of the gameplay.

    Wow.

I'm so mad I wont be able to build a new system till almost a year from now!!!

But just amazing, the think that awed me the most was the component vehicle damage (Finally!), the nuke at the end was amazing! And finally the vegetation and interactive environment.

I'm downloading the second video but it looks amazing!

Totally. Not only that, but while there's fighting in the forest, you see all the DX10 light beams streaming through the leaves, the dynamic real-time shadows, and the actual physics of trees blowing up when you shoot them, or buildings collapsing as you drive a tank through them.

Ageia, move aside. DX10 is here :)

It was in slow mo on purpose btw, especially when they showed that lighting scene in the forest.

These are the somewhat anticipated system requirements:

Crysis will no doubt be a fairly demanding game. It will require a good system to perform well. However, CryEngine2 is very scalable so lower end machines will still stand a chance.

Here is a list of confirmed information...

    * Crysis will run on both DX9 & DX10 as well as Windows XP and Windows Vista.
    * A graphics card that supports Shader Model 2 or higher is required.
    * CryEngine2 is estimated to scale back 2 years, and scale ahead 1.5 years.
    * A single 7800GTX will run the game quite well on fairly high settings according to Crysis Art Director, Michael Khaimzon.
    * Jack Mamais of Crytek said in an exclusive Crysis-Online interview that his X1900XT runs the game very well at reasonably high settings ( still unoptmized ).
    * Crysis will dynamically utilize all processing threads available. Meaning quad-core processors will be supported.

The following specs are estimates made by myself based on the above mentioned information and other sources. These estimates are NOT official - but are based on official information.

    Minimum Requirements
    CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6200 or ATI X1300 - Shader Model 2.0
RAM: 768MB on Windows XP or 1GB on Windows Vista
    HDD: 6GB
    Internet: 256k+
    Optical Drive: DVD
    Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

    Recommended Requirements
    CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7600 or ATI X1600 Pro (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
    RAM: 1.5GB+
    HDD: 6GB
    Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
    Optical Drive: DVD
    Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Once again, these are estimates only and are no way official. I just want to makesure that is clear. However, if you have a graphics card similiar in performance to, or better than a 7800GTX, then expect to play Crysis quite nicely ( presuming your other system specs are up to scratch ).

I will update this page as more accurate information becomes available. Until then, this is the best reference available. If you have information that may be more accurate than this, please contact me via the enquiry

    Good info.

I've seen different recommended specifications before, they were considerably higher than the ones you posted (X800/8600). Only time will tell.

I sincerely hope this game lives up to its hype.
