i was exploring the idea of getting a 2.6ghz T7800 or T9500 core 2 duo, but wasnt sure about the heat these things make compared to a 2.0ghz one, has anyone put one of these beasts in a small laptop (~12")? i know the Penryns run cooler, anyone know how much diff that would make (sounds useful for such a small notebook), also since these arent overclocked, shouldnt the T7300 and T7800 produce the same amount of heat?
also, do the mobile extreme cpu's produce more heat at their stock speed than T7xxx series?

    thanks in advance

edit:: i came across 2 sources one of which says that all the cpu's on thinkpad x61's are soldered in and the other that only the low-power cpu's are soldered in and the T7xxx series are socketed, can anyone verify this?

T9500, definitely. It produces less heat, consumes less power (logical point of view) and it works a little bit faster.
