    Hey people I been searching on the net but couldn't find information on upgrading graphics cards for laptops. I am currently using an INSPIRON E1705 dell laptop with 7900 gs graphics card. The motherboard model is OYD479 and I am wondering if its possible for me to upgrade to a 8400M graphics card so I can play Dx10 in the future. I mean are they compatible or not?
    I only bought the laptop last year and its my first laptop from desktop so i am not very experienced with laptop hardware, n now games r starting to become Dx 10 : < very frustrating

    from 7900 to 8400, u better tell me u were just joking lol just wait for a year, and then buy a new laptop with a much better card

    DX10 games will still be backwards compatible with DX9 just as DX9 with DX8&7

    7900gs is much better than the 8400gs in terms of speed.

    No you can't, plus it would a DOWNGRADE... not to mention that the 8400 isn't exactly a gaming card.

    And, DX10 isn't a big deal at the moment...so just play your games and don't worry about that.

    Unbelievable i think we must sticky that high number does not equal good performance unless it is all ( 7800gt 8800gts) COMPANY(ati intel nvidia) must also be same

    oh i remmeber....the sh!ttiest laptop in the world at the moment, the P1 coupled with 128mb of ram, and the 1gb. oh did i forget the UNKNOWN integrated graphics..it is a bunch of quesiton marks

    i was like 6 or 7, when my father taught me how to play doom :) lol my little brother was really into it. when he didn't play it on the comp, he'd just pretend the bad guys were rugs and fight them lol
