    need some help on a few things... i have a Dell x300 notebook celeron 1.2Ghz and i want to upgrade 2 a pentium4 2.something Ghz.. can i?

    do graphics cards go in notebooks? if so would a GeForce 6800 or ATI Radeon X850 fit?

    you've probably guessed i don't have a clue about this stuff so any help would be great!! thanks!

    i sorry to tell you, but i think a replacement is well and truely needed. only a few of the new notebooks allow upgrades, and even then most don't. if your not afraid to spend about $1000 though, i'm sure you would be able to get one that will comfortably play LOTRO.

    It might be possible to upgrade the processor and RAM, but even then your chances are slim. The GPU would be a no for sure. I'd have to agree with Jeff and say upgrading to an entirely new unit would probably be the best choice.

    A new system is by far your best bet, not sure how your prices are in Ireland, but here in the US you can find deals such as a dell vostro 1400, 14.1", 1.6 core2 duo(more than enough for lotro) 2gb ram, GF8400,160gb HD, DVD burner etc for around $649, there are more cpu options, but naturally the price shoots up, if I didnt already have my M1210, I would have snagged one of those weeks ago.
