as far as i know, we cant use that resolution on a 17 inch screen, why ? after 1280x768 we directly find 1600x900.. is there anyway to force it ? (AMD drivers)
    rig on sig :)

If the resolution is not selectable from within Windows I can go into the Nvidia Control Panel and create any custom resolution I want. I'm sure Catalyst has something similar.

But really, 1366x768 would look horribly blurry on a 17'' screen, especially one that is 1080p natively. Why would you do this?

It is because such resolution is not 16:9 in reality, 1:1... but a mixture, forced to keep the 768 res. The actual 16:9 equivalent is 1280x720. You can use random resolutions to keep the format like... 1440x810 if you don't want to go as high as 1600x900.

Not in the CCC, but there is a way to edit the registry to get proper custom resolutions. I had to do that on my MacBook Pro to obtain 1440x900; for some reason the driver installs that resolution as 1440x1050.

Easier than registry, you can use CRU ( custom resolution utility ) to do this. You can also change your refresh rate to "overclock" your lcd screen.
