    Hi,

I have a new dell desktop with Vista, and nVidia 8600 GT video card that has two DVI outputs on the back.

I have a presentation tomorrow, and I need to set it up as follows:

I need to connect it to the monitor that came with the desktop, and a projector, which is fixed to the ceiling.

I connected the monitor to the card using the dvi cable that came with it, and it works fine.

However, the projector runs VGA cable. The computer came with DVI to VGA converter, and I used that on the second dvi output, and connected that to VGA, but it won't detect the projector.

I tried updating the drivers, etc. Nothing!

Am I missing anything here? I am not that familiar with DVIs!

Basically I need to use LCD monitor using one DVI output, and the projector as extended desktop (which has VGA cable) using the second dvi output.

    Please help!!

    SW

Did you enable it in the display settings in vista?

Try using Nividia control panel to clone your monitors

Yeah! I went to nVidia control panel, but it won't detect it at all! It just lists the monitor that's attached.

Please help! Is it probably because the card outputs DVI-D? and the Projector is analog?

Did you turn the projector on first?

Yeah! I turned it on first! I am clueless right now! It should work with the converter they provider, right? Or may be I need a different kind of converter?

    Please help me!
