i just installed vegas on a really bad computer. half the specs dont meet the requirements. I just updated to 1.04 (didn't try the game before I installed the patch) and when I try to start it crashes the windows error report! If my specs weren't good enough shouldn't it have said so when I launched the game? It just checks for updates then crashes! help!

but it should still give me a warning right? I mean my graphics card meets the requirements it's just my ram and processor that doesn't, so the game should still run but slow theoretically no?

You just double questioned yourself. First you wanted an answer that it shouldn't be working in the first place. Second (just now) you wanted it to run but slow.

Vegas is a very demanding game and if you don't meet the requirements its not going to not let you run the game (meaning it will still work) but it won't work well at all. Leading to the next question, why did you buy it?

thats true, most games now won't run great on a machine with the minimum specs. You can look on the back of the game and see if it will run or not. general rule is not to buy a game if any of the specs dont meet the minimum

The game does run on the Unreal 3 Engine as well, so unless you've got a very powerful system, don't expect it to run well. Also, the game was optimized to run on the 360 and then ported to the PC.
