    Hello,

Sorry if I made this post in the wrong section. I just purchased my Dell and I'm pretty happy.

However, I'm wondering if I made the right choice. The rep upsold me on the 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7300 GS on the 256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory™. Which card is a better video card in terms of performance and quality?

    Thanks!

The Mobility X1400 will perform the faster out of the two. Hoever, neither card is amazingly fast, but more like enough for basic gaming, on medium settings. If I remeber correctly, the Mobility X1400 might be priced lower than the Go 7300 GS.

They both will likely meet your needs, but the x1400 is nicer of the two (see the GPU guide) the x1300 is more equivalent to the 7300. If you just ordered I'd try to switch/cancel your order to the x1400 card.

The X1400 is faster, but don't expect a day/night difference. If you want to change your mind, call Dell again. Try to get the same customer service representative to speak to you if you remember who it was.

So basically if I'm not a heavy gamer, and I don't mind paying the extra $30, it should be OK, right? Right now on Dell's website they said there is a delay for the x1400 and I don't wany more delays.

x1400 is slightly better, but it's not that of a big deal, I don't think you'll see much difference in your games. Actually I have seen better color definition in the 7300 with different tones of black, for instance.
However, x1400 is still better, and Dell tricks people charging more for a worse card. So don't fall.
