i have the latest Nvidia drivers and its not a virus....really unsure what to do here so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, it wont allow me to play empire total war at all every time i start playing a game it freaks out and the screen starts getting dots all over it then crashes and i get the video hardware error message and in the taskbar it shows a little massage saying video drivers have stopped working followed by installing drivers and then drivers installed correctly........im lost as to what it mght be thanks alot for any help.

Harddrive is high (59-60 degrees, still 5 degrees away from dangerous) but other than that the GPU temps are high 70's low 80's and cpus in the high 60's low 70's.

Actually, 60C is the danger zone for many hard drives. Are you sure that yours isn't 60C (probably not related to your video errors though).

    first, update to sp2

second, attach the dmp file to your next post if it is not too large and maybe someone can make some heads or tails out of it

when your computer crashes, it will create a memory dump file...look at your 3rd picture. Looking at the dump file MAY show what caused the crash.

    The file name is wd-2009627-1822.dmp

could be in your root (c:\) could be in your Windows directory (c:\windows)

Given this is not a minidump, it may be quite large...check the size before trying to upload it....it may be as large as your system ram--not a big deal in the older days, but a 6gb dump file won't get uploaded

ok the files are minidmp files and i have found them they are all small in size only 400kb or so, but i cant view them, do i need a program to view them?
also when power came on i experienced the same problems but with games that i was able to play yesterday, but before crashing i have noticed FPS dropping from high 40's to mid teens then BSOD..........i have updated the Nvidia drivers to the latest version, and also installed vista 64 sp2 but still experience the same problems apart from now every game i try crashes....
really not sure whats happening....temps are fine but H/D is anywhere from 57-61 degrees...please help........

im wondering if something isn't right with the gpu but really need your suggestions, seems strange that i experienced massive fps drop before the last 2 times i experienced BSOD.....by the way i haven't tried to overclock or anything like that

ok just tried a third game fallout3 this time it loaded and played well with high FPS but it only loaded using the middle portion of the screen.....ie there was around 2 1/2 inches black border on every side of the screen with the game in the middle (sort of like my image having Sager and then black border imagine the game being the sager image),could this be a driver issue or gpu related?

sorry for the multiposts just want to get this machine working well....cheers guys
