    Hello everyone ;)

I'm here to ask about these two laptops. I want to know your opinion about which one to choose.
    Here comes the configurations:

    MSI GE40:

    Intel Core i7 4702mq - 6mb cache - 2.2 to 3.2 ghz
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    1024 GB HDD 5400 rpm
    Nvidia GT 750 2gb GDDR5
    14" HD+ anti glare display
    Super-Multi DVD±RW
    8 CELL battery
    1232$

    Lenovo Y510:

    Intel Core i7 4700mq - 6mb cache - 2.4 to 3.4 ghz
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    1024 GB HDD 5400 rpm
    Nvidia GT 750 2gb GDDR5
    15.6" HD glossy display
    Super-Multi DVD±RW
    6 CELL battery
    1084$

    My use of laptop is:
    gaming,
    engineering programs like autocad,

In fact, I want to know the reason why are the prices different like that. In first look, it seems that Lenovo has better configuration but MSI is more expensive.
Is it caused by heating problems, low build quality, low quality motherboard, etc?

Regards :) and sorry for bad english. :p :p

Nothing wrong with going LENOVO if you found one cheaper than an MSI. MSI is a fine brand as well for the most part, but I also like LEN. If you have a good deal go for it- they've been working really hard to put out a lot of quality products the last couple years.

I would avoid the GE series from MSI. I`m not certain how Lenovo fair in cooling, but GE series is like having a rocket engine firing inside a small shell....

AutoCAD runs on directX, so you are okay with gaming GPUs. However if you run any other programs like SolidWorks i would advise a workstation laptop.

Both the MSI GE40 and Y510p run hot (and quiet), however the MSI is known to throttle more.

The MSI is a lot more portable and has far better battery life. However the Lenovo has a better display (FYI it's matte not glossy) and better performance.

If you are buying the Lenovo, make sure to grab the SLI graphics cards:

    XOTIC PC | LENOVO IdeaPad Y510p (59388313)

But yeah, with the money saved, get a 256GB SSD.
