I was wondering what resolution the VGA output on the w3j supports up to? It has the x1600 card, but how high a resolution can I go up to on an external monitor? Is it dependent on the laptop, the graphics card, or both?

    Thanks!

I would check ATi's website. They have a long list of their current graphic cards, and you can read about them and their specs.

I took a look at their site, but could not find anything about a maximum supported resolution. Such a thing will be important for me considering I intend to use a large display when not on the go.

The W3J's VGA port can support resolutions of up to QXGA (2048x1536). Since you are interested in hooking up an external display, also consider the Asus A8JM, which has a DVI-D port.
