i can't "walk" right or left. in other words, can't do shift+left or shift+right
but i can walk forward and backward. I know i had this problem couple years ago and got it fixed by a friend, but can't recall at all.

can't find anything off of google either =(

Go to keyboard settings, and then reset them all to default. I too had this problem. That is the only way i could fix it.

you can rebind them... with console
    bind a "+moveleft"
    bind d "+moveright"
can try that before you restore the default settings

hm when i said "walk" i meant moving with making any noise. default doesn't work, and a, d, are already bound to moveleft and moveright. could it be the keyboard? im using an external keyboard which is about 2 years old...i'll try a diff keyboard
