So I'm wanting to get a laptop that can support gaming, especially a notebook that can play games on max settings for games coming out this year or next. Ive been looking into Acer laptops which seem to be pretty sweet (the aspire 9800 with a 20'' monitor = /drool). But don't really know when the next set of notebooks are coming out or if theres stuff out there right now that goes above and beyond these machines. My price limit is probably no more than 2500. If anyone could give me any direction or suggest some products that'd be sweet. thanks :)

The Dell XPS series is a very good 'gamers' laptop, but it's pricy. If you are looking for something a little cheaper, check out the Dell 9400/1705. If you go with the Geforce 7900, it can be a very good gamers laptop. To save some cash, upgrade to the 7900 but keep the 512mb of Ram and the 60gb HD, for now. Buy them seperately from Dell, Newegg possibly. It will save you in the long run.

I would suggest filling out the FAQ in the "what shoud I buy" forum. That will give us a better idea of what to recommend for you.

Dell xps are very expensive for a faily good one one person i know spend 4400 dollars on one... Yikess!!

well the Acer Aspire is one of the computers that i have looked at as well and i like it alot. another possibility is the Acer TravelMate 8204, it has ati x1600 256 dedicated which is not bad(not the best but not at all bad) 120 gb hdd, 2gb ram, 15.4 inch wide screen. BT, wifi, intergrated web cam ect. for about 2000 US.

(if you are not moving the laptop it is safe to go wiht the Aspire 9800(note it wieghts 17.13 pounds!!!

If you want a m1710, check out notebookforums.com. Techaholic sells them for a REDICULOUSLY good price. I bought one from someone on there, it really saves some money
