I am looking for a war FPS.

Something from present time or futuristic, with steady hi-tech weapons that won't backfire much (I mean that the aim will remain in the same spot after fire).

I like strategy aspects combined with the FPS (e.g. Brothers in Arms), but it's not a must.

system specs on sig. Thanks in advance!

Recoil! thats the word I was looking for...

At least a game with guns without as much recoil as WWII games...

    Maybe COD4?

The M16 and Carbine don't recoil much, add RDS and they're pretty futuristic :)

yes, I agree, but I have been playing a lot of Brothers in Arms lately, and I would like to try something different...

how good is the single player mode in Battlefield 2142? I don't do online gaming...

Horrible, they use bots... no storyline, you don't buy Battlefield for singleplayer.

There was another one with a bit better singleplayer campaign I think (I haven't played it), and it's frontlines fuel of war. They still use generic bots like Battlefield, so don't expect Crysis or Far Cry 2, Bioshock A.I...

BF2142 is online only, While you can play a single player mode, it's basically the exact same thing as online, but with bots, and you can't rank up, so you can never use the better weapons or equipment. If you don't play online then this isn't your game.

Most of the weapons in COD4 have pretty mild recoil, You'll be able to fire full auto with "almost" every gun and never really have to worry about recoil messing up your shots. There's a demo available that should give you a good idea on it. That demo is HERE if you'd like to try it.

There is also a demo to BF2142, but there's no point in linking to it as it's online only.

Oh, and there's also UT3, all guns have zero recoil, and it does have single player, though the single player isn't really much of a story, it just goes through all of the different maps and modes with bots, or COOP with other players if you want, but then again this was also an online targeted game, most people buy Unreal tournament games for the multiplayer.
