I ordered a vostro 1700 with the 8600gt which i thought was the ddr2 version. When i open up rivatuner i see this:

is this reporting wrong or do i have the ddr3 version?

Riva Tuner is known to read incorrectly. You have the DDR2 card.

yeah it aint always accurate, unless dell are offering it with ddr3 then urs is ddr2
also i think to confirm u can check the memory speed, i think the ddr2 is slower eh -
oh ok.. rivatuner says it also hasnt been tested with the current display driver that i have... maybe this is why... im using version 2.03 is there a newer version?

Only Asus and Apple offer GDDR3 8600M GT. Like Chaz said, this is a bug in Rivatuner.
