The 1'st choice. The GFX card is ALOT much better than the computer #2. And the screen is also larger. The only negative thing with the 1st one is the RAM, but that is upgradable. Which a GFX card isn't.
Well the cpu is a bit slower, but a much more powerful GPU is better for gaming.
So #1 with a bit more RAM would be a VERY nice laptop.
I bet your son will be happy -
I say number 1. The 2nd one does have a Core Duo, but it's a low speed one. And the Pentium M is in no way a low performer. Not as good as the Core Duo, but if it's a gaming notebook, the 6800 is much better than the x1300.

First one by quite a margin. Second may have dual core, but I could probably count on one (maybe two...) the number of PC games that actuall support dual core processors. Pentium M is still a good performer for gaming. I'd just chuck an extra 512mb of memory in that first one though, you need a gig these days if you want to do some gaming. 2gb for some titles preferably.
I have an X1300 myself, and if gaming is very important to you and you want to play with eye candy turned on, then best to avoid it.
what 1 should i get HELP
