Quake I and II, perhaps? Maybe Quake III? I think the original Half Life might choke a little on that card. The original HL was pretty advanced graphics-wise for it's time.

Original HL actually runs very well on low end systems. I used to get decent framerates out of a 4mb integrated rage pro in some compaq desktop with a 400 mhz AMD K6-2 processor.

Quake I and II will also run, but quake III probably won't. You can try the original UT as well, I've gotten that to run on an original 32 mb radeon.

Finally there's a bunch of 2d games like starcraft and whatnot. Those will run just fine.

yeah i would just like some games to play while im out around campus. nothing too advanced.

i mostly like shooters so you guys are saying quake 1-2, half life would/should run?

and please no "solitaire, freecell, pinball, etc." answers... you know what i mean

Halflife should run fine. But probably only with software rendering.

Also, you should play Monkey Island (1-3) and Fallout (1-2). They should run fine on your system too.

You *may* be able to run Halo at low settings. I could run it at mid settings with my old MR 7500 32MB and 512 RAM. But it had a 2GHz P-4.

Download MAME and have a wealth of arcade classics at your disposal. Most 80s, and early 90's arcade games should run fine on that PC.

the original ut MAY play but I think that was looking for a 32mb dedicated card.

I'm pretty sure it has a (rather efficient) software rendering mode if my memory isn't failing me. I think I use to run it on a 800mhz AMD Duron with integrated SIS graphics and it played fine.

you are correct, UT games are very well written and have good grfx and low requirements. I actually got 2004 to work on my intel 32mb with slight lag here and there. But that was with a mid res and low-mid settings.

    Half Life
    Unreal Tournament
    Quake II
Command and Conquer Red Alert 2

They are a few great games that will run fine.

The prosavage is a pretty crap card but UT and Half Life will run fine on it, and on direct 3d mode, not only software as some people said, remember UT and HL are old games that at the time, had a recommendation, let alone minimum, of only 8mb Video...

PS - someone said UT needs 32mb GFX, thats incorrect - UT didn't even need a video card to run, it can use software mode, which is pretty good considering you don't need need a card, but you'd need a decent CPU and Ram to make up for it. Even with a video card, anything over 8MB is fine. I used to run UT GOTY edition on my 8mb Ati Rage Pro and it ran on high settings no problems.
