if you're lucky, at the lowest possible settings.
i had a desktop with a Geforce 6150 integrated and it could play age of empires 3, but would lag when many units were on the field.
i think the 6150 > GMA 950....so good luck with that.

In this scenario, I honestly don't think you're weak graphics are the issue... Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that the 512mb of RAM is the bottleneck here. Let me put it straight to you. You have nothing that even resembles the remote image of a gaming machine. You have a basic web-browsing and email productivity notebook. If you insist on gaming on your machine, than something like solitaire my fit what it is capable of better.
And by the way, what is your CPU?

    Cheers.

if you had 1gb of RAM i think you could play it on high-Mid cuz i saw a i vid.. and a guy was playing AoE3 on his 64mb 950 card (dont really remember the graphic card but it was a bad one) so its playable :)

    cheers

So it's a dual-core Intel processor @ 1.66 ghz. Alright, well you could deal with that. But unfortunately the rest of your specs just won't be able to game, doubtfully even at lowest settings and res.

so definitely your RAM and Graphics Card are your bottlenecks. the only way you can get a decent performance increase for your case is to put more ram in.

I agree with you somewhat. The GPU is an issue, yet the rest of the system is also an issue. You hit it right on: this computer is for basic tasks: word processing, internet. You can have the best CPU in the world, it still can't make up for the lack of a dedicated card. But I hear minesweeper is very fun.

The Reader Rabbit series, or hooked on phonics. Good stuff to support your education.

Please don't get his hopes up on this thing that has been delayed, and maybe canceled. Not to mention the cost-prohibitiveness, you might as well buy a console.

One good game that may run on your machine is roller coaster tycoon 2. Yes, 2. rc3 would not run on your lappy.

You guys are all being mean to the poor kid.

Here are some GREAT games that will work on a GMA 950. You could probably even get by with 512mb with these games too.

Starcraft, Warcraft 3, System Shock 2, Counter-Strike 1.6, Diablo 2, Planetside, World of Warcraft (eh, with more ram, maybe), Half-Life 1, Command and Conquer: Generals.

Those are just off the top of my head, but I think they are all awesome games worth playing, and they will certainly function on your computer.

I do not know if AoE III will function so well on your computer. Rome: Total War will certainly play from the war map, but once you get into a battle (which you don't technically have to do, you can have the computer decide the outcome), your graphics will grind to a halt.

Battlefield 1942 will be just fine. You can probably run it at high settings too. I have it, and I only have an Intel Centrino 1.5GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and an Intel GMA 82852/82855 graphics card with 64MB. I can run it on high, so your good to go.

Integrated graphics are stuck to the motherboard I believe.

If it's an integrated chip, you can NEVER change it.

However, you can play some games on that graphics card.
