    I mean the more benchmark results I read, the more I feel like it's a [edited by moderator] measurer than anything useful... an example

    just keep your eyes on the 7950 GTand 8600 GTS XXX results. So 3dm06 "thinks" 8600 GTS XXX is faster or at least as fast as a 7950 GT, but then u look down a little bit and see the next page as well, 7950 crushes 8600 GTS XXX in all the other game benchmarks by large margins..

    any thoughts?

    It's because the 7950GTX has a 256 bus but the 8600 only has 128, so 3DMark score is similar but in games the 7950GTX destroys the 8600
