Right, that's one of the best cards on the market, but found in very few notebooks.

Thinking of getting a laptop with a Go6800? Go for it if you are a very demanding gamer - that card can handle anything.

i'm not sure about other people in this forum, but i dont overclock at all. its unnecesary for this graphics card and i want to be a little precautious so i dont overheat my baby haha. and i updated the drivers to 78.11. i believe there is a higher version out there but i'm not sure where to get it.

I just played a ton at Lanwar with mine, games included were UT 2k4, BF2 and Quake4. Yes, no problems at all with Quake 4, including playing multiplayer.

I must say, I'm seriously impressed with my Insperion 9300 for gaming. One other guy in my clan loves it too, he has had no issues with his either.

also, not even running the top video drivers, just Dell's latest release.

dont know what you did to your 9300 but battlefield 2 and fear at max settings make my 9300 lag (a lot actually)

    my 9300 = 2.0ghz/2gb ddr2/go 6800

What set of drivers are you using? I have almost the same setup as you (cept with 1.86ghz) and I can run both just fine with high settings. I am using the 81.82 drivers from laptopvideo2go.

running fine and smooth is a matter of personal opinion. i can't stand to play games below 60fps myself.

Are the 81.87 drivers v2 on tweaksrus.com different from the 81.87 drivers on laptopvideotogo.com?

It is VERY sweet for gaming. The only thing better is the 7800 GTX and that is even harder to find. You won't need to OC a 6800 to play current games at high settings - but I would let the game auto detect settings. You may have to play in a window too because of the high native resolution of your screen.

It should make a difference in BF2 and FEAR. The manufacturers select and tweak drivers for stability months before the notebook ships. It is very unlikely that your current driver has been optimized for newer games and that might explain the perfomance.

i updated my video driver to 82.10 from laptopvideo2go.. got 3402 on 3dmark05.. but when i tried to play CS:S i got weird lines all over the place. I uninstalled those and downloaded 81.85 xtreme G drivers from tweaksrus.. 3392 on 3dmark05 and everything plays great. Im happy with the xtreme G drivers

EDIT: I am on stock speeds right now and have no plans on o/cing since everything works flawlessly

just dled and installed the newest drivers from dell (as of 11/07). I got a 3393 mark. I like this driver better then the xtreme-g driver because I dont get weird effects in bf2 (for example: the textures on the mountain seem to "morph", in windowed mode the ground was completely black with no texture).

i think the 81.40 drivers are the best ones out there...i've tried some of the higher drivers for the 6800 card...and i did not see ANY improvement in quality or performance...im sticking with the 81.40 drivers for now :D :D

i noticed in a couple of the previous msgs that you guys were running bf2 and fear really high. i have a 1.86, 1gig ram, and the 'go' and cant hardly get 35fps on fear -medium settings- and bf2 freezes and chops a good bit on med-high. anyone tell me whats going on?? i read all this stuff about the card being awesome in the forums and right now i'm a little skeptical... just wondering about my comp is all, just bought it this month too... any advice will be cherished :p

9300's max out with the 6800 go but when you move into the XPS category they have the 6800 go Ultra or the 7800 gtx go. (all 256mb)

You can always mod your i9300 and stick in a Go7800GTX.

However, that voids your warranty. Check the Dell forum for more information.
