i would imagine it would be the 8700-GT in a couple months, but do you really want to upgrade?

Everyone's hoping for an efficient 8800M.

Lol, good luck with that. The 8700m GT will probably be the max for a 15.4" notebook until the 9000 series takes over.

The 8700 so far has not shown up in any 15.4" notebooks, and due to the heat output I don't think we'll see the 15.4" laptops ever have the 8700. But I could be wrong...

Can't wait for 9series. Anyway if they had a really low tuned 8800 they might just pull it of. THe performance would be slighty better then the 8700Gt almost to a scale that it would be not worth the envestment. But it would be neat.

Hell, desktop 8800's can't even make a single slot video card, forget about a mobile GPU until they at least do that. Hopefully the 9xxx series will be smaller die and less heat. But chances are they won't appear in laptop's for another year.

Umm, the 8700M-GT is MXM-III, right? We've seen 15.4" MXM-III notebooks before, and I'm sure we will again. I agree that a 17" is ideal for high end components, but a 15.4" is no slouch.
