ive seen these cards quite a few times in asus and toshiba notebooks
    says:

    # ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600:
    # Video memory: 256MB dedicated VRAM
    # Up to 1024MB with Hypermemory

ive never heard of these cards before, how do they perform while gaming?

    e.g new games (bioshock/moh:a/ut3 ect)

Their pretty much equivalent to the nvidia 8 series. Just like the x1600 was somewhat around the go7600, the HD2600 is around the 8600gt.

If you browse around the gaming forum, you will see several threads about the new ATI cards and how the perform both in games and vs. the nvidia cards.

We have reviews of two notebooks that have the HD2600. They are the HP HDX and the HP 8510p notebooks...if you look up those reviews you can get somewhat of an idea of how they perform. Feel free to ask the reviewers questions.

Note those are reported to have DDR3 while there is a DDR2 as well .

Info is hard to find , read somewhere the 8600GT has a slight edge over the 2600 thanks to more efficent units .

Would consider the 2600 as part of a "well packed" notebook as the 8600GT isn't that hot either .

actually, the 8600 has an edge because of less underclocking and drivers.

Also note that the HP HDX has an HD2600XT, which is a different card than the HD2600.
