Faster hard drive or processor?

The most important component for gaming is actually the graphics card, of course. But of those two, it depends on the differences in the two. Going from a 100GB 5400RPM drive to a 100GB 7200RPM drive at a cost of $250+ (on average) is not going to be as cost effective as upgrading from say the Celeron-M 1.3GHz to the Pentium-M 1.86GHz for $300.
On that particular model (the Compaq R4000), however, the hard drives only go up to 5400RPM, and it's only about $25 difference between the two speeds, so get the faster one, no doubt. But the Athlon 64 4000+ will be a far superioir upgrade, though it's expensive ($275). You'll want at least the 1024MB RAM (fairly reasonable at $150), too.
