    whats the minimum video card that can run all games today in low resolution/settings? with no affect on gameplay speed of course

    Lowest settings? Probably anything discrete will do it, except maybe the latest games need more than an x300.

    Settings worth seeing? x600 - it would be better to go for an x700 or a go6600.

    I've got a radeon mobility 9600 pro turbo w/ 128mB of RAM. It can run any game out there at low settings. The only game that I play that has lower than 30 fps while playing is Everquest 2. EQ2 averages out at around 25 fps. This is still playable for me.

    This card is getting a little long in the tooth, but it still does the job. Included is a link to the perfomance specs of various GPUs.

    Assuming this link is correct, I'd assume the 6400 from Nvidia and the x600 from ATI would be the minimum cards that will do what you asked.
