new mobile gpu like gtx675m with ivy bridge processor and latest ram..etc
still cant run game like crysis that was released in 09 in ultra with everything to the max. whats up with that? also i never get why pc game designers keep pushing boundaries? i get game graphic needs to be better but is it necessarily to make them so high that new gpu n cpu cant even handle it with max settings? or worst gets outdated within a year. why cant they be like consoles, the graphic is not awesome but good enough to play n the fact that it wont be outdated at least for 6 years. i have own a gaming laptop and it is just so hard to keep up. finally couldnt take it anymore and turned to ps3.

...what? No, seriously... what are you asking?
Notebooks aren't the only place people play games. My desktop can push most games at ubermax settings perfectly fine. The thing about PC games is they give you options, so it can look as good as you're willing to spend money on. Notebooks are by far the worst performance/dollar as far as PC gaming goes, but you do gain portability.
Besides... if you set Crysis to the same effective settings that the PS3 runs it at, any modern gaming machine will tear it apart. The PS3 and 360 solve that by just not giving you settings to change, they're always low quality. -

1. Why can't my GPU meet my arbitrarily high performance criteria?
2. Why do game developers innovate? I find it annoying when I can't drag the slider bar all the way to right, it makes me unhappy. I'm not actually checking to see what the game looks like, I just want all the sliders all the way to the right. Also, if game developers keep innovating, they make old games look bad. This whole system annoys me.
3. Why can't things that aren't consoles be more like consoles? Why is my PC not giving me a console experience?
4. I bought a console. -
new 2012 gtx675m cant even run an 09 game at max seems absurd
they give us option? not really more like forcing us to upgrade every year
like i stated console graphic might not be awesome but good enough to play, definitely not low quality -
your nominated for being top troll of the day -
Remember that PC games aren't designed with mobile GPUs in mind. They're designed with desktop GPUs in mind, and a 670m is roughly equivalent to a mid-range desktop GPU.
Also note that games like Crysis have arbitrarily high settings, a lot of which is for marketing. "There's no computer fast enough to make our game totally awesome!" You can do a task that'll take a ton of work for little actual benefit, and all Crysis does is give you the option to turn some of those things on.
I actually don't think masterchef was trolling. He hit the nail pretty much on the head. -
Quit whining because you can't max a game out. That's what I have to say. Crysis wasn't coded as well as it could have been, which is half of the problem, but there's no problem at all with designing a game with the future in mind.
The same thing happened when crysis 2 came out. "Why can't I max it out on my three year old inspiron?", people would say. The whole point is scalability (well it should be, some devs seem to forget that and make games which simply won't run on older systems". The point is that you should be able to get the max amount of work out of any system. If you limit it to a three year old inspiron standard then you have people at the other end of the spectrum who paid vast sums of money for their rig, only to have it sit there being a waste of money because max settings only need the same amount of power as a three year old laptop can put out. -
Crysis runs terrible on PCs, but you should be grrateful you can even play it at medium to high with that GTX 675m. (or GTX 580m)
I remember when Crysis was new and i played it on my shiny new notebook with a Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 and a AMD Mobility Radeon X1800.
So choppy unless i played at bare minimum but i regret nothing.
Being able do blow up the jungle made it all worthwhile.
Had EA released Crysis rehash on CryEngine 3 like on Xbox 360 and PS3 we would probably looked at better performance but well, we dont have it for PC. -

IMO it's not that the gpu can't run it max, but that the game isn't really optimized. No matter how super powerful your gpu is, it won't run the game 60+ fps.
-
The game still looks amazing. Battlefield 3 is the only game with better graphics, hence why Crysis still runs badly for you guys.
By the way Crysis was released in 2007, not 2009. -

new 2012 hd3000 cant run crisis either. Its not about being new, its about being powerful.

The laughable part, with much respect, is when you said that switching to ps3 eases your pain.
Look, if you have a 675m or similar (580m,485m), run Crysis 1 64 bit which has dx10 feature.
Set all the details to high, set 2xAA, set resolution to 720p, limit the framerate to 30fps=profit.
It will look (and still) above and beyond console versions but plays with the same framerate.
That's why they are calling you a troll. Hell, you could even cap the framerate to 30fps and switch to 1080p without bothering too much.
Some game settings are made for extreme or dual gpu systems, that's the way it goes, because pc gamers master race demand these settings since they're shelling a lot of money on gaming systems.
In the end the games doesn't play differently between settings, just the eye candy gets a bump. -

PS3 are great they are the only consoles that allow you to run literally any video file with any codec when it is ripped and the majority of Bluray too from a USB stick.
I dunno what else it is used for but for video files...
whats up with that
