i just found out that im going to overseas for a year today, and im expecting to leave around beginning of may. i know noone really knows because nothing really been put out my ati and nvidia, but are directx 10 cards going to be here in march early april, or should i settle for dx9 card. i dont plan on taking my desktop, so im looking for a desktop replacement. basically is dx10 coming soon cause i dont want a dx9 notebook unless your can replace gpu with dx10 card.

the Nvidia Geforce 8 series is DX10 (already out)... ATI has yet to release a DX10 card...

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
Low end DX10 mobile cards are supposedly here, (ATIx2300) availability will be tight for awhile I suspect. Performance DX10 mobile cards will be awhile, I suspect mid to late Q3, thats just a guess.

i know g8800 is out, but im talking about mobile dx10 cards. what low end dx10 is out already. i dont know of any laptop with a dx10 in it as of today. the asus a8jr was announced but no release day was put out. also im not looking at any high end card but midrange like a 7600 or x1600 which would be an 8600 or x2600. ill get an high end for my desktop when i return.

no one knows
why do peeps bother asking anyway? all anyone can provide is a rough estimate -
Ahh sorry I was referring to desktops not notebooks - Nvidia supposedly Q3 this year
-

-

I would suggest waiting till about 3 weeks before you leave and see whats available. thats what I did before my unit deployed last august. got a great deal on a dell E1705.

i just saw that ati will be releasing there dx10 cards in april but i think its just the desktop versions. i know dell are usually the only ppls that let you upgrade the video cards i wonder it that will be and option because im leaning towards e1705.
when are directx 10 cards coming
