I want to upgrade my video drivers from the stock 82.93 to something more recent. Im considering the 84.25 or 91.33 from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/.

Ive heard that Nvidia put an annoying message along the lines of "you dont have SLI" that comes up at start up. Obviously I want to avoid that so does anyone know the driver version it was introduced?

That way I can get the driver released just before. I know this may be a stupid question but can it be turned off? I seem to remember people saying it couldnt be turned off?

    Thanks.

I'd go with the 84.xx series. I saw the "SLI Multi-GPU Rendering Disabled" with the 91.31 drivers.

Can't you get the drivers for the Go 7 series directly from NVidia? That way you don't have to use the LaptopVideo2Go inf's and such...

There is a fix for the sli message though I forgot where I got it from. (probably tweaksrus) It's a .reg file with the following info:
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\MediaCenterTray]
    "NvCplDisableBalloonNotifications"=dword:00000001
    Worked for me - XG mobile-force 91.31

right so the 9x.xx drivers have them. I checked the Nvidia website and the most recent one they released is the 84.63 so im going to go for the moded ones of those from the LV2G website.

Just wondering, if something goes wrong how do i undo the installation. Do i go to device manager>display adapters>go7300>roll back driver? Will that do the trick? Or is it better to uninstall the driver and re-install the stock drivers from Asus?

Also, how are people using 9x.xx if Nvidia only have 84.63 on their website?

If you are going to use a different version of drivers, it's generally best to uninstall the old ones completely via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Yeah it comes up with my newer drivers, and it was pretty annoying at first. I tried finding a way to disable the message with no luck. Really though it's not so bad; it just pops up when you first boot up, you click the "x," and you're good to go. It really isn't that annoying basically, so if you want to try the newer drivers I wouldn't let that stop you.

Well 84.63 seem to be stable!

I uninstalled using Add/Remove and it gave an error saying a service "nc...sc"? cant remember the exact service now, couldnt be stoped. I clicked OK then the uninstall continued. Rebooted and everything was stretched out. Went to install the LV2G drivers using the "have disk" method but when i did that Windows gave me a massive list of all the componets on my system kinda like device manager. I clicked display adapter and it said "none found"  . After a while of trying to get round it I decided to go with the "setup.exe" route and it installed fine. Everythng seems to be A-OK now. I heard my laptop fan go from low->high for a while - first time in ages so im hoping it was because the laptop had been on for a while as opposed to funny goings on caused by the driver.

Been using my laptop for a bit today and everything seems cool. Hopefully should have no trouble.

edit: Just noticed Nvidia Control Panel in my Control Panel, when I open it its blank! There are no options or anything, just the text on the right which link to the help files. Even if I select Advanced, there is nothing and if i select custom there is nothing to choose! Is this normal? Whats going on? I can still access my Nvidia option from the nView Desktop manager.
