Most laptops will down clock your CPU and GPU when you are on battery mode to conserve energy. You can try and change that in your power scheme settings so it won't down clock your system.

the battery will literally last about 10 minutes if you try it.

i don't know why people are so into this, the tech just isn't there yet.

my battery lasts about 30-45 minutes playing games (last i tried anyway)

there should be a little battery icon in the bottom right corner, right click on that then switch it to high performance (its been a while since ive done this, i might be totally wrong, but thats how i remember it  )

Most GPU's do downclock on battery, not just to save power but because the laptop's battery literally can't handle the load. For some cards (and certain drivers), this can be disabled by disabling powermizer (nvidia), but it depends on the card. Basically, when gaming, keep your 'book plugged in.

What is the output capacity of the battery? There's a very good chance that the battery isn't capable of putting out enough watts to run games.

I fail to see the point in gaming on battery, it wouldn't last over 20-30 mins. What's the point?

Instructions for disabling it are in my guide, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you know what you're doing. I doubt it will allow you to play on battery anyway.

Most standard 6 cell batteries are between 50 and 60 whr ... you are going to draw more than that while gaming.

FYI - You can manage the same power management setting in the ATI Catalyst driver. It's called PowerPlay.
