i was thinking the second one would be better because the processor is a bit faster, and ive heard that the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS is a bit better then the ATI Mobile Radeon HD 3650, plus the 9600M GS has 1GB of dedicated memory were as the Radeon HD 3650 only has 512MB, they both have 4GB of ram. So am i right is the second one better?

i would like to know which of the two is better gaming thanks for all your help guys

I'd take the Nvidia chip and the superior Asus build quality plus awesome warranty.

For future reference, all we really need for the comparison is the Company, Model, CPU, GPU, and Screen Resolution.

i would get the toshiba and not the asus because of the 16" screen..that 1280x800 res is a bit too low, you probably can run all games nearly maxed out at that res..so for me, id get the toshiba. however, the 9600m gs wont be able to use 1gb of memory since the screen real estate is too low to display enough graphical objects to use 1gb of memory. plus the ati can use shared to assist if it ever needs more than 512. so i say the toshiba.

if the asus cant use all 1GB of graphics memory then how much will it be able to use if the screen res is 1280X800 and the screen size is 14.1"

Neither will effectively use more than 256MB, as they're both 128-bit GPUs.
