why is FEAR.3 (Perseus Mandate) the best FPS all time

like i said. why is FEAR.3 soooooooooooooo bloody best.

it must the best (single player) First-Person-shooter all time.
(been playing "all" bigger FPS games (single player) and FEAR.3 just wiping the floor..........

it also unbelievable well optimized for both Ati & Nvidia card. running this game in Native on my 16" 1080p screen and it runs perfect.

details, graphics, story is sooo damn well made, hope the never stop making FEAR

 

ive played F.E.A.R 1 & F.E.A.R 2 but not heard of F.E.A.R 3 but although they are good FPS i dont think either are the best of all time.......bioshock, and CoD4 are two that come to mind that i think are far superior in gameplay, story and they would get my vote over F.E.A.R any day.

 

remember........i only talking about single player FPS games here. (but sure, Bioshock comes on strong nr.2-3.....guess HL2 comes on Nr.2 )


my favo online (mulitplayer) FPS games are: Day of Defeat, BF2 & CSS......COD have not a chance against this 3 games...thats for sure.

STEAM engine is the best optimized engine all time .......(then DICE (BF2)

 

FEAR 3? Never heard of it, I have however heard of the Standalone Expansion Perseus Mandate, probably what you mean.

FEAR 2 is tons of fun, i'm about halfway through. That and Deadspace have been keeping me busy.

 

You guys are not the only ones who haven't heard about FEAR 3. I haven't even heard of the two latest games.
I use to play FEAR at my friend's place. It's a great game and a little scary, that's why I try to avoid it, hehe
I will definitely do a little research about FEAR 3. I'm going to watch videos and read reviews about it. It will be pretty interesting since I'm extremely bored at the moment.

 

perseus mandate was the secodn addon for fear 1. teh first one was extraction point which was far superior to perseus mandate. then there is fear 2 + the reborn single player dlc.

why i know that? im a huge fan of the fear series and own every game + every addon...

the real FEAR 3 is put on release for 2010 btw.

CoD4 has a really excellent single player campaign, ive not played the orange box but ive heard its also very good, bioshock has the best FPS single player campaign i have ever played......i enjoyed F.E.A.R but not near as much as bioshock or CoD4 but hey this is a loaded topic as we all have varying tastes :yes:

 

im a huge FPS gamer.......i buy (get) them directly when they are release.

Why is everyone being such a jerk? It's obvious he means the third Fear game, not FEAR 3.

There is FEAR, FEAR Combat (the free multiplayer version), FEAR Extraction Point, FEAR Perseus Mandate, and FEAR 2 Project Origin.

 

It's only obvious after he edited it. Dude needs to learn to just call names by their title. You don't go around calling the expansion to a game "<Game Name> 3", especially when a true sequel with the number (ex: F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin) exists.

 

I never liked Fear. And the add one doesnt look that great either.

I liked the original FEAR. The expansions were OK, more of the same. Although I can respect that. I wish more developers would just do that. Far too often they try to do something different and add a graphics gimmick that only detracts from gameplay. Like Half-Life 2. Obviously awesome game in itself, but with each new episode, offering some graphics improvement, and for the most part "who cares" but takes 12-18 months between episodes?

Title of this thread is misleading, but Perseus Mandate is a decent update to the game.

 

I really enjoyed the first FEAR. Looked and played bloody great when it was first released, plus the bullet time was cool to see in an FPS.

Haven't played the later ones, I've heard they are a little stale, but I'll def keep my eyes open next time Im in the local EB.

 

perseus mandate was the worst of all fear releases IMO.

 

I have greatly enjoyed FEAR and also its two unofficial expansions. I have only played the FEAR 2 demo so far and have not liked it, I dislike that it's story did not continue right after FEAR 1, whereas the first expansion did, and yet it was produced by another developer.

FEAR 2 is very consolized, dumbed down, missing features that made the first game great. My guess is the game takes place with a new character and story due to console gamers being largely unfamiliar with the first FEAR, which many more PC gamers played than console gamers. The console port of FEAR was largely ignored. So Monolith abandoned PC gamers, as many other developers, made FEAR 2 for consoles primarily and that did not have that great sales either. If they had catered FEAR 2 mainly for PC gamers, I bet it would have been a greater success and better game.

It is EXACTLY what I fear (no pun intended) will happen to Crysis 2.

 

I never could finish FEAR it just lost interest to me too quickly.

I just got FEAR 2 for uber cheap but not sure if I should play it until I manage to beat the first one.

 

I may have to install this game. lol i have it, but never installed it.

Vicious, you need to finish the first, if for nothing more than the story. The story is what kept me going. Sure it became an annoying game near the end, but when you finish it, you felt accomplished, at least I did. And it would definitely help to understand FEAR 2, of which I still have to complete myself.

 

The award for the best FPS of all time goes to COD4.

Though I think it will be surpassed in every way in Modern Warfare 2.

Just my opinion though.
