    will crysis play fluently on this notebook?

    1.8 dual core proc 800 fsb, geforce 8600GT, and 2 gigs of ram? or is the 1.8 proc too low? will upgrading to 2.0 ghz make a noticeable difference?

    It'll probably be able to run on high, but probably not smooth. Count on medium to medium-high for smoothness.

    Oh yeah, the game's probably more GPU intensive than CPU intensive, so I wouldn't worry too much about CPU in regards to Crysis.

    Regarding the processor, you might consider upgrading to the 2.0 ghz processor for the Cache size increase. Not sure how much it would end up affecting this game in particular, but it's good to have in general.

    not for another year (even desktops)

    I'm pretty sure SLI 8800GTX ultras and a nice Core 2 Duo and 3-4GB of RAM could do the job. =P
