    will turning 360 off during gaming help

    you can refer to the written manual that came with your (xbox?) 360.

    the unit must be powered on in order to play. playing with the unit off will give poor results. however, if you insist on playing with the unit off, there is a button to do that:

    edit: uninstall norton 360. install avira. problem solved.

    he did mention Norton 360. personally I haven't used Norton in a long time as it has always been a "resource hog" since Windows 98 days.

    ok my machine is a dell 1520,t7250,3gb ram,8600gt ddr2,vista and i just put quake 4 and prey on it,but i having turned down all but the most nessasary vid setting so it will run smoother if i turn any more off its going to look like mud so i look around and it was said that turning off programs for a short time like norton 360s anti virius can help a little so i am trying to turn off 360 but i have looked but can't find the off button any help would be great.

    no turning off yahoo 360 will not affect gaming..
    it is all hosted on remote servers. :D

    if you right click on the icon there should be "disable autoprotect" (unless this has changed since ive used norton)

    i really doubt it will yield much of an improvement (if you get an improvement at all) to turn norton off, not to mention you are putting your computer at risk. Make sure your in game screen resolution is set to the same as your native screen resolution, that would make it look sort of blurry in my experiences if it isnt the same.

    i recommend avast! antivirus over norton (avast! is free and im still virus free)

    waht are your settings at right now btw? they may still be too high

    thx for that man,i was hopeing it would run a little smoother i did not think i would get any better graphic's.will post my setting tommorow.
