There is a great deal on a gaming comp, but it has windows XP X86 PRO and i was wondering how good it is for gaming. will games run faster? i know some games aren't stable in 64 bit mode, can i choose between 64 bit when i want, or will i have a choice when i install, or will it be 64 bit weather i like it or not?
Thanks

It will be 64-bit all the time.
There are some compatibility issues, driver issues, etc...so currently I would not recommend a 64-bit OS yet.
If anything get Vista 64-bit which is a bit better than XP 64-bit. -
In any case, a lot of games aren't compatible with 64-bit technology. You're better off sticking with 32 bit if you want to game, because drivers for 64 bit aren't very ... widespread. -

As posted, are you sure you're running a 64-bit OS? The 64-bit version of XP is called XP Professional x64.
