Hi
Finally got my Quadcore laptop.
Got a 8800gtx graphics card. One problem.
Been trying to update the driver with the one from Nvidia. Installation fails. Says it cant find the hardware. I'm running vista 64 bit, and downloaded the drivers. I tried the automatic one on their homepage. Directed me to alienwares homepage to download their driver, so i'm doing that now. I'm running the driver from the cd that came with the laptop. Not the newest one, but think it was like 163 or something.
Tried Crysis, fps is like 15 in 1024*768 with high details... That cant be right?
Please assist, in what to do. First time running Vista, and its a damn big difference from xp![]()

Install the 169 drivers, then delete all bloatware from Vista, defrag it and clean the laptop.
Once done make sure your card dont have automatic AA turned on etc.
You can also use Rivatuner to clock the card, take a 3Dmark06 test you should get over 9000 points -
I've cleared out most of the useless stuff in vista. I've run 3dmark 2006 on the 167 driver, which gives me a score of 9841. Im not satisfied. I downloaded latest driver from nvidia and the laptop2... something. When trying to install drivers it comes up with: Could not find any drivers that are compatible with your hardware...
I simply dont get it? -
go to the sager website, they have 64bit vista drivers for the 8800M GTX -
