i finally got my card to run vantage at 870/1070 with slight artifacting.

i scored 16122 on gpu. and 17836 on cpu overall P16421.

so technically according to futuremark i have the worlds fastest 6990m as no other 6990m has broken 16k gpu on their site.

please note benchmarks that are not posted on 3dmarks site do not count and are not official.

ps. you can find my score on this link

    Search

its the third one down note the gpu score vs the top 2

3Dmark is almost completely worthless. I can run any 3DMark all day and then jump into a game and it crashes.

But the 6990m is an awesome card.

its fun benchmarking at max clocks but they are not stable in game.

my stable clocks are 840/1040 and i score 15671 gpu in vantage which is still the highest

Now I want to beat your score. Unfortunately this is also my work laptop, so cannot push things right now. But you look out, once I get my next project done and have more money/time on my hands I could very well give you a run for you money. Got a lot of tricks up my sleeve (thinks about putting his laptop on a bed of dry ice... then wonders if that voids the warranty... odds are it does :))

btw. if anyone here plays crysis i recommend trying this config out. its not to increase performance at a visual cost its to increase shadow resolution(sharper) and increases draw distance more like ultra high. ironically i get a couple frames more even with the increased graphics.

    AMD Radeon HD 6990M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor,CLEVO P170HMx score: P16950 3DMarks

So this is probably the max without some modifications to the cooling or really low ambient temps.

Yep, not practical to focus on ocing just to get the top spot. However, the concepts of managing voltages and temps can be applied in other areas. And its just so darn fun :D

    EDIT:

...and not sure what stable clocks will be for gaming. to be honest I'll probably just go back to stock clocks since Deus EX HR runs fine at 1080p with no oc. nice to see sagers on top :D
