So i recently just got a E1505 with the X1400, 1.66ghz duocore, 80 gb hd, and 1 gig ram.
So i decided to test out these three games I have to see their performance.
No overclocking, no nothing.
Doom3 and Hl2 i maxxed out everything, Ultra High on doom3 and Max on hl2 (didnt mess with AA and AF though). Surprisingly, everything ran great, much faster than my radeon 9700 pro on my desktop. I saw very slight frame reduction on Doom3 when in the most open spaces with most enemies, but other than that everything was great.
For BF2, i put everything on medium quality and once again it was just as good as everything else. I have yet to put it on highest, but so far so good.
I am REALLY interested in trying oblivion now but freakin a, i dont have the money right now

what are your clocks? u can see them in ATITool
-
whatever stock is.
Should i get atitool, i mean i have atitraytools and i dont really wanna have 2 ways to set my gfx card so i mean should i get atitool and delete atitraytools or what? -
But at what resolution?
-
X1400 is powerful, my Radeon 9600 pro can play those three game at medium-low setting at 1024x768 if i turn off all shadow, no AA and AF, no Vsync
So i think with X1400 you can set to medium-high setting at 1024x768 no problem.
Happy playing -
Just wondering, how many gigs of RAM do u have because i have a 128mb x1600 and it barely runs BF2 at 1280x800, medium. I'm thinking it has to be a RAM-deficiency problem, but who the hell knows

The games talked about run healthily on 1 gig of ram, and want at least a 128mb card, the x1400 is pretty much identical to the 9600/x600 in terms of performance just with SM3. As you can see its a little more powerful as the core has an extra 50mhz (12.5%).

i herad bf2 is a ram hog....people are saying 2gigs is good

Its not so prevailant when were talking this end of the GFX market.
-
I actually play most my games at 1024x768 but on bf2 i played it on 800x600
So I just played FEAR and with Medium settings for both computer and graphics, I got around 36 fps avg, which i find acceptable. -
That's decent. If the res is fine for you, great
Glad you found the X1400 a good card.

Nothing bugs me more then someone who paid a cheap price for an X1400 and then whines when it doesn't run games at the best resolution.
It's great to see someone who knows the limitations and is happy with them.
Happy gaming
x1400 on doom3,hl2,bf2
